Joining the squares:

I used the join as you go method from Lucy of Attic 24, I had to adapt slightly when joining in the large boucle circles as they had 10 trebles per side and the other squares had 9 trebles per side.

Keeping the clusters of 5 trebles correct - I did 3 trebles join stitch, 4 trebles join stitch, 3 trebles join stitch.

Instructions for side 2

Make 4 large boucle circles.
Make 5 medium sized boucle circles.
Make 16 popcorn circles.
Arrange them then frame and join them.

I framed the medium sized boucle circles in exactly the same way that I framed the popcorn circles.

Completion:

  • Using 3.5mm hook join into space with a slip stitch and white DK
  • 3 trebles 2 chain 3 trebles, *1 chain 3 trebles into next space, 1 chain 3 trebles into next space, repeat from * to complete round.
  • Weave in ends.
  • Pin sides together lining up stitches.
  • Using white DK and 3.5 mm hook do a round of double crochets on three of the sides only (corners 3 dc 2 chain 3 dc).
  • Now you have 3 sides joined and one side open.
  • Open zip and pin in place, sew in using cotton.
  • Stuff with cushion pad and hey presto - all done!!!!!!!!!
