Crochet Notes - Picnic Bag

Pattern: Nursery Granny Square from Val Pierce's Book here.
Hook: 3.75mm
Pompom Trim
Aldi Shopping Bag

I made 36 squares using up oddments of blue and green DK.

I sewed each set together for the four sides and crocheted round the edge in a colour to match the bag.

The floor panel was completed using an old favourite, see perfect pencil case here.
I did the base in Aran yarn.

I then crocheted the sides together and sewed them to the bag, adding a row of trebles around the top.

I made the handles with a base chain of 80, Aran in the middle and DK around the edge - all trebles.

Then I sewed the pompom trim on.

I then filled it with bowls, plates, cutlery, a cool box, napkins, tea towel, glasses and a citronella candle.

Just need some sun now.

  1. What a fabulous idea and I love that pom pom trim to finish it off. I do hope we all get some sunshine soon so that you can really make use of the bag and go on a lovely picnic. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely comment, I shall go and have a proper look at some of your previous posts now, I see some wonderful projects.
